I think bird is a dumb name for a guitar tho.
It probably means middle finger... like the Free Bird thing she used to do.
Also.... don't be makin fun of me for wearing crocs. If 3 year olds can wear them all the time, so can I. They are very comfortable.
I always thought Bird was a reference to that "Little Bird" song she said her mom sang her as a lullaby.
I wear crocs, too. Only around the house because with the dogs I have - you want washable shoes. And the lined ones are mega comfy.

I have a friend who swears by crocs, but I wouldn't be caught dead in them.

I love them for slippers. I don't wear them in public. And the lined ones, ahhhh. And my dogs require rubber soes. No doubt. Honestly, the soles on the real crocs (not the knock offs) provide way more support than slippers. The non-lined ones - my morton toe sticks out the hole in the front

Gives the Mrs a good laugh. But, then again - I'm

and don't give a shit.

I think this guitar has birds on it, no? That could be a reason too. I only have one pair of crocs and they're cool, like sandals, not the traditional ones which are super fugly.

Hey SMP - does your guitar have a name? If so... do tell.

I named mine.... Melody....

Which one? I have 3 with a 4th on the way. I called my electric, "Bitch" kinda by accident. The strap was really crappy and popped off and it fell. The headstock took a ding. It's fine, but it pisses me off. My first acoustic was all screwed up and is small because it' a parlor size with a full neck. It has a hummingbird inlay and every time I look at it I think "little bird" - but that's a dumb name for a guitar.

My latest acoustic was a surprise gift, this past weekend. It's super sentimental and I can't even play it without bursting into tears. It looks almost identical to one my dad had when I was a kid, and he recently passed away. If I do name it, it will be something pertaining to him. I'm sure.
The new one, has not yet arrived. It's a 3 string cigar box guitar. Maybe, Bud. I'll let you know.

Okay, super-crazy-ass jealous over here. I WANT 3 GUITARS!

"Little bird" is a lot better than just "bird". And "Bud" is cute.

So sorry to hear about your Dad SMP. That sucks.

Did he teach you how to play?

Nah. Don't be jealous. The electric is a low end Epiphone that I got to play Rocksmith. Which I hate, and why the bird says "you suck." The parlor guitar, is a Luna. It's pretty, but I'm not that girlie. Like, at all. It was a pain to get set-up right and now I have this aversion to it. The gift one, was also an acoustic Epiphone and probably the one I will play most. I'm kinda snobby with how I like my guitars to sound and feel. My Mrs has a collection and I won't even touch them (see the story of, Bitch). I find that I'm drawn to one or the other depending on mood. Sometimes, it's a Bitch kind of day. Sometimes, it'll be a pretty melodic day (Melody, great name for guitar). The CBG, I got becaue I hate the sound of resonators, but I like "dirty blues" and thehistory behind them is really rich. I pick 'em like my friends. There are some great ones floating around out there. We should start a guitar thread...
Thanks for the sentiments. My Dad was cool. He had a guitar, but he never played. He wanted to learn, just never had the time. He taught me how to paint and draw and he was a printer - so my love of books and writing, I get from him. Probably because I know how it was done before computers. He was really creative and he taught me about music and movies without realizing it. He loved music. I was really young when I started paying attention to things like artists and production and so forth. Appreciation for lyrics and the writing aspect came later. PLus, he had a wicke sense of humour. Which is where I get mine. We were terrible together. Nothing was sacred and we would just giggle at how offended we could make everyone.

Tattoos.

I don't get the whole tattoo thing at all. I knew a girl that got a life sized portrait tattoo of her father in his Marine full dress uniform on her back as a memorial... I'm sure her future husband/boyfriends will appreciate it. Nothing like staring into a woman's tough guy Marine father's eyes while you're trying to bring a child into this world with her.

Love my, tats. They're personal and permanent. Not for everyone, but people don't get them for the reasons most people think.
