A Girl And Her GunFeeling myself today and it got me thinking about what this body has carried me through....Years: 46.Child birth: 1 boy via emergency C section.Breast fed: two years.Illnesses: chronic kidney infections and chronic pneumonia. .Injuries: broken clavicle, both tibia, 5 ribs, spinal process, right ankle, pelvis/tail bone. .Survived: violence, trauma, homelessness, predators, betrayal, deception, divorce and fame- all miraculously with out ever developing a chemical dependency/addiction. .Greatest source of joy: nature, reflection, writing, music, my son. .Greatest accomplishment: I AM MORE THAN MY STORY. I no longer live in reaction to my past. I experience joy, love, trust, authentic loving relationships and giving back to my community. I am proud of my journey.. .If anyone out there is struggling today, keep going. Dogged persistence, not talent, is the best indicator of sucess. Don’t Give Up.. .Be kind to yourself even if no one else is. Take care of yourself even if no one else has. Be tender with yourself even if no one else will. You will outlast them all and be glad you took care of your beautiful self while you learned to love yourself, even if no one else does (yet). You got this.Tell me - what has your body carried you through that you are proud of?#NeverBroken
Those last 3 are from the Blender magazine (a Maxim spinoff) shoot, June/July 2003. That shoot was one of the few good things to come out of the Travesty of the Pink Frisbee era.
