I love the wiki.  I've gone there several times to try and get dates correct in my head.  It's a great resource.

I agree, great job with the tabs, Jess.  Usually, when you go searching for guitar tabs they're wrong off the bat.  Great combo.

My fave morning radio show mentioned Jewel twice this week. First they were talking about people who are attracted to imperfections on others - someone had a friend who only dated girls with big noses, etc. The snaggletooth came up and Steve said "like Jewel!" Then today, they had a guest in the studio from Alaska and once again, Steve said "Jewel is from Alaska." Of course I had to tweet them to tell them she is in town and they should try to get her in studio. Or course, it won't happen. Still funny to hear her mentioned twice on a rock station.

They're a pretty popular show in that region, too, aren't they?  She'd probably have done it!

I'm thinking of buying this golden cd from Pieces of you, I just don't know the history behind it, so I'm not sure yet.

So....we have a monthly team call at work. It's a feel good call - not a "business" call. So we all submit things from our personal lives (one colleague makes amazing cakes, someone just ran the Boston marathon, suckers got married, had kids etc). So I posted my pics of Cope and Jewel as my April celeb stalking. I got many chuckles about Jewel and jokes about her thinking I'm a stalker and being afraid of me. A new colleague piped up and said I need to contact her and chat about Jewel's early days. She was present and has lots of stories to tell me about her experiences with her. I'm on it and will let you know anything unusual that she has to say.

Email from my co-worker who worked at the Innerchange:

We need to chat about that sometime. I was there way back when before Jewel was Jewel. When her teeth were messed up, she was overweight and living in a minibus. She was always so sweet. I worked at the coffee shop she was found at. Our performers were paid in coffee as we had no money. But I would always smuggle the performers some cobbler as well. Jewel would never take any and would say that Miss Nancy said coffee, not coffee and cobbler. She was crazy of course, because that cobbler was the best in the world!!

She called me a rock star in an email yesterday (for a work related thing) and I responded with "I'm no Jewel" which prompted this. Hopefully we will meet face to face one of these days and I'll totally stalk her. haha

And yes the Innerchange. Sadly Jewel was the only big name that didn't come back for the many benefits held to keep it open. But I forgave her of that many years ago (: There was some amazing talent that came out of that little place. Just talking about it makes me want to smoke. I quit smoking years ago, but back then it was the 90's and we were cool so we smoked a lot!!!

Jewel was very controlled early on. I have a performing child so I applied what I saw back then to how not to be a stage mom now (:

I love the copies (mostly Angel food) from the Innerchange days, her interaction and banter with the audience is priceless for me. My favorite is the "Live at the Innerchange Coffee House 1994"
