Last night, Jewel sang River by Bishop Briggs and it sounded great! I actually dig this song and I think Bishop Briggs seems like a good egg. All around great choice.

Great performance! I'm worried that since one of the judges finally mentioned Jewel that she will get the buzzer on the next show and be revealed. At least we should have one more performance to go! Maybe I'll be wrong and we'll get a few more performances, cause these have been great!

Never heard of Bishop Briggs or that song, but she sounded great. I've never seen the show, either, but from that clip, the judges seem like total idiots, so I guess it shouldn't be surprising that it took them so long to figure it out.

So according to spoilers from Reddit, Queen of Hearts will be singing with Nicole in their final group performance... will it be a screamfest duet? Nicole is very well known for that based from her past contestant duets in X-Factor UK.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the duet, and I can't tell what happened.

I can't tell what it is? poor editing of the song? the fact that Jewel and Nicole Sherzinger did not get to rehearse together? It seems like Nicole's timing for the "Dream on"s was slightly delayed and it threw Jewel off? Idk

It's a couple hundred bucks a year to keep the board hosted online. It comes up for renewal every April.

Actually, I have a lot more to say about this.

I'm depressed. I've lost a half-a-dozen friends and family over the last few months. Despite this, I have to make mountains of cookies for my Mister's customers this time of year. I had to arrange a haunted house for Halloween and I was responsible for Thanksgiving. sorry I didn't keep up with this reality show to make this board look more active. And it hurts to see someone come through only to post that the activity isn't up to their standards. Wikidude came through. I was coming through. Be the activity you want to see. Please. It's a group effort - not a blog.

Thanks for the offer, Desolate1. I'm not actually gonna quit the board. It'll die when I (finally) do. I'm just ... I'm just so bummed lately. Sorry to winge.

I have all this on my DVR and I'll get it uploaded and edited eventually.

I liked the new EP. River by Bishop Briggs is still the best one. Glad to have a cleaner cover of that Sia song as Jewel mostly wept through the live performance. Also, her cover of What's Goin' On for the show should have included her, "Because that man can't breathe!" she had on her EP. But I did like her idea of a love song to humanity.

This is the saddest thing I've heard! Let's work together and I can see about getting it hosted through the Wiki maybe? (Using the existing board software). I already pay for hosting for my personal/professional page, and use the space to host the wiki and my husband's personal/professional page as well. Let me doublecheck logistics, etc. but we'll work it out!!

Also, I need this board! It is the closest that I think we have right now to the way the old Smoe mailing list was-- I love the Facebook groups, but have a few problems with them; first, they're on Facebook, which I try to limit my use of; second, they feel full of sycophantic posts (which is so anti-Jewel, it's kind of ironic). The old Smoe list had posts criticizing things, and full on discussions, not people agreeing about how amazing everything is. (Don't get me wrong, I love like 99.9% of the things Jewel has done, but don't feel as comfortable expressing those opinions on the 0.1% of things in the Facebook groups; nor do I know if they would remain up as posts.)

Honestly, I probably would have complained about Jewel being on this show, because like....it feels very low level? The same show as Honey Boo boo and Mama June? Really? But in classic Jewel fashion, I fell in love with all of her performances, and her story about why she loved doing the show. And we got all these awesome songs/performances.
