I can't believe how starved for new Jewel content I really am.  I'm looping the f out of this track. <3

When this song kept surfacing during her shows last year, I honestly wasn't a big fan. However, I really like this studio version! It's weird because it's usually the opposite for me where I prefer Jewel's live takes to album takes.

Yeah, I agree.  Jewel always sings extra when she doesn't have an instrument to play and it's not my preference.  This track benefits from some good sound editing and a better melody structure throughout.

I personally like when she shows off more in the studio!  She’s always added and shown more when she’s live. I love the recording of it, it’s a well written song. I’m confused though..because I swore when I saw her live IG of them working on the song it had a band in it??

I think you're right, Nathan. I think the other thread here even has an attachment of the video you're taking about. Maybe they thought this version is more fitting for the film? Her recent studio sneak peaks have been Rock sounding to me. Maybe she's saving the band version for the album?

Where's Javo? In the other thread, he was hoping for another piano tune... here it is!

And I'm sorry you're not a fan of this one, Donna. I definitely like the release more than the live versions. But I could be in the same camp as Jessica and just thirsty for new Jewel.

Two live Christmas songs have also been added to Spotify (under Singles & EPs) - Hands and What Child is This (w/Nedra),  from Christmas at the Vatican...meh.

You’re probably right Robby! Do we know if it’s being released to radio stations? Can we call in and request it like the old days?

I’m really stoked for this new era of Jewel!! 🤩🤩

I love Christmas Hands... its one of my faves.
I've already listened to Joy.. once. A bit early normally for me but it was sitting in my CD player from last year so I thought what the heck lol.  :w

I love it! Probably starved as well. But I did play it for two friends who are casual fans and the reactions were: (Fub) she's really belting it out and going for it. (BFF) Wow - her voice.

I feel bad for saying this. But, this song is too oversung for me to put it in my playlist. It's not something I would listen to more than once.

I feel like all vocal artists start doing this as they get older. It's less emotion and more craft. But, unless you are the 0.0000000000000000001% of people that is also a singer the craft aspect is just not even really registered. The craft nature of it to the person singing it makes it really hard to connect with emotionally. Songs by older artists don't generate any emotional connection in me. It's too artificial- if that makes any sense to anyone. I want to hear an emotion that I can connect with in someone's voice, not how long they can hold a note due to years and years of training and practice. Is the singer just an AI robot or a human with emotion?

I agree Code, especially with Jewel. Although her voice is undeniably great, I love when she sings with emotion.. its so much nicer to listen to - and gets me right in the feels. I don't really like this song. I've listened to it a few times, to give it a chance. But.. naw.

Present !!!

Very happy with this new piano song! I reall like it! The only little point is that she must not overdo it with her voice, too emotional sounds less honest . And if it's a bit much radio station won't pick it up for sure.
Nevertheless I recommended this song via twitter to some national radio-DJ's, you'll never know
