Jewel Concert Recordings, Bootlegs, et al.
« on: January 23, 2018, 03:52:43 PM »
I always thought Jewel was just an amalgamation of the corniness of the late 1990's music industry and the surge of radio "pop"- but (unashamedly) I admit I was wrong. I have been brought to the light in understanding that she's an undeniable talent (that voice!) and such a gifted songwriter. Her songs shine even more in their live incarnations. Case in point...
"You're the blink, I'm the eye
You're the shiver, I'm the knife
You're the crutch, I'm the break
You're the emptiness I make" ("Two Hearts Breaking")

ANYHOW to the point. Why is it so hard to find Live Bootlegs or Soundboard Recordings of her?
As a Dylan fan- I bask in such things for him so I was expecting to find the same outlet for her but was surprised they are more hidden than expected. I have the "official" EDA Fan Club downloads which sound excellent. But, does this forum offer any collections or downloads of performances, etc.?

Thanks for all your help and thank you for keeping this forum going.
God bless.

Hi, Evan - thanks for posting!  You should now have access to the parts of the board you're seeking.

We call it Angelfood in the EDA community.   :)

Evan, have you heard her duet with Bob Dylan on "I Shall Be Released"?

If you listen to some of the early Angelfood, there's usually a cute story that precedes Sometimes It Be That Way that involves her touring with him.

Welcome Evan,

I can imagine your first post. Especially when you're familiar with bootlegs from Bob Dylan. that guy has moor bootlegs than all of the other artists whoe ever lived all together. And a lot of them are even easy to get your fingers on.

You can also check discogs.com to see what unofficial material is released, a lot of stuff is mentioned there, but not all of it. and of course the angelfood section is great, combine that with the terrific jewelwiki (as mentioned before) and I think you've got yourself some great listening hours to look forward to.

Hi everyone! I'm a pretty new Jewel fan. Got into her music half a year ago. And after listening to her albums I realized that I want to hear more music of hers especially live tracks. Can I get access to Angelfood too?
