To be fair, the duet is fine, but the rest of the record is just so wonderfully murky that MFD's twangy production seems out of place.

I wasn't a fan until I saw her live at a very small, intimate venue.

She tossed some hade at Jewel back in the Lilith Days if I remember correctly. Those were some fucked up days, for sure.

so glad he made it, and with this new album to boot. I'm made a funny that was only funny to me.

I remember her tossing shade at young female songwriters in general back then, but I don't remember Jewel specific shade.

I guess if I spent a life time making good music and didn't get recognized until I was 40, I'd toss a couple skank eyes a beautiful young diva's way, too.

From my recolection, she was pised because he was everyone' sessio musician and never got credited. That's why her career started so late. That's her on Suzanne Vega's stuff.

Your right, it doesn't fit in with the overall feel of the album. Im wondering if the audio of Never Broken has songs with it. She has mentioned singing lyrics during the reading of it. She also mentioned talking about who You Lied is about. So maybe it will be part of the book.

These glowing comments from those of you who have heard (at least some of) the record are getting me jazzed up about it.

I had an idea today. The Pulse Music Board has threads called, "Listening Party!". The members listen to a new album and they all comment on the songs and the overall feel of the record in the thread, maybe not all at the same time, but it gives the impression of real-time. I think we should do that for PUtP on the 11th. Hell, someone could start it now, with all the stuff that's come available. Maybe use spoiler tags or something?

I mean, I understand waiting to hear the whole album, but why not give Jewel a few pennies for an early Pandora spin? It's the whole album now! She makes a little $$$ every time we listen to this.
