Folk-pop singer Jewel is selling her Texas home at the surprisingly affordable price of $335,000. Located about two hours outside Dallas in Stephenville, the almost 3,000-square-foot property is propped on 4.4 acres of land and features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Jewel and her ex-husband, Ty Murray, bought the ranch house back in 2007. Although the exterior of the home is a bit drab, the inside was professionally decorated and radiates charming character. It features oak floors, white ceiling beams, and a colorful fireplace. The open floor plan is definitely a highlight of the home, as the dining and living areas connect to the kitchen that has distressed-looking cabinets and green river-rock countertops. The den includes floor-to-ceiling shelves and opens to the spacious yard. According to Variety, the Grammy-nominated singer snagged a $1.3 million home in Nashville last year after her divorce — quite an upgrade from this humble abode. Genre-crossing folk-pop-country musician Jewel has her spread in the boonies near Stephenville, Texas, up for grabs at $335,000 after it was first and briefly listed at $350,000. The Alaska-bred multiple Grammy nominee and her ex-husband, rodeo champion Ty Murray, purchased the property in March 2007 for an undisclosed amount. Current listing details show the not-quite-3,000-square-foot ranch house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and sits on 4.4 rural acres about two hours southwest of downtown Dallas. Professionally decorated and custom-finished open-plan living spaces feature hand-scraped oak floors, whitewashed ceiling beams and a colorfully tiled fireplace with massive, rough-hewn wood mantelpiece. The kitchen, completely open to the dining and living areas, features custom-painted and faux-distressed cabinetry, a combination of gray concrete and mossy green Brazilian river-rock countertops, a bead-board-paneled ceiling treatment, and a full array of up-to-date stainless steel appliances. A spacious, separate den, lined with floor-to-ceiling shelves and media storage cabinets, opens through a wide bank of French doors to an essentially un-landscaped yard that quickly gives way to open ranchlands.

Records show Murray continues to own several nearby properties and, according to the eagle-eyed guys at Celebrity Real Estate Aerial, the then-newly single Jewel decamped to Nashville, where in March 2015 she shelled out a tetch more than $1.3 million for a brand spanking new, 5,000-square-foot home on just over an acre in the upscale Green Hills neighborhood.

I know a bunch of people that are either from, or moved to Texas.  They all LOVE it.  It's not my kind of state.  It's a wee bit backwards thinking (in my head, anyway).

 Austin, has become very hipster, big on the arts and movie scene.  I have a colleague there.  Then there is the panhandle, which is mega religious - and the rest, is a lot of cowboys.  Big hats, big belt buckles, big egos.  Not for me.  Most people I know that are moving there now, are doing it for the taxes...or lack, there-of.

I was in San Antonio in the fall. It was lovely. Of course it never rains and we were there during two straight days of rain. But it didn't feel back-doorsy at all. My friend moved there about 2 years ago and she loves it.

This house is lovely, I've always liked the inside. The outside needs some work though... couldn't these two afford a landscaper or something? lol. 

It says they bought the house together but I thought it was Ty's in the beginning? Case in point:

-Yes you guessed it I moved there cuz I fell in love with a man
-I moved his ex old-lady's things out of the closet, the same closet I had move my things back in
