Thanks for the links Jessica, am listening now! Any idea what year these may have been recorded?

Love Will Come To You is great!

Love Will Come to You and Second Skin are both listed as coming from the year 2000 - This Way era!

And another called Closer Behind: http://www.spiritmusicgroup.com/Songs/Library/Closer-Behind-(1)

There is another jewel-song that really comes to mind when I hear this: Fragile heart (just music style at some points, refrain)

A lot of these aren't written by Jewel, so there's probably too much red tape, whereas someone like Amos or Folds write all of their own songs exclusively. That's probably the hurdle.  These songs above aren't Jewel songs - she's just singing them. :(

Nah, they were written by Jewel, just not exclusively Jewel. :) Rick Nowels has co-written a few of her songs so he's not a new name. The other two songs, though? I don't know who those writers are. Using my google powers I see that Marv Green co-wrote Stronger Woman and Jeffrey Stevens is another country singer, so I wonder if Love Will Come To You was recorded for Perfectly Clear. Second Skin actually sounds like it might fit on Goodbye Alice in Wonderland so it didn't surprise me that the co-writers on that song had more of a rock background (Stan Lynch was the drummer for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers).

Oh! I just found this! From an old copy of Billboard magazine Sep 2, 2000.

So I'm guessing that's when Love Will Come To You and Second Skin were written. :)

Wow! It's like Christmas in August! I'm so excited to listen to all of these as I pack for a trip tonight!

The renovation on the wiki has taken a backseat lately. Sorry, y'all!

You can add it to the new wiki at http://www.jewelwiki.com/w/ or the old one. I won't lose it in the transition. If you want to give it a try, copy the formatting from another song and it should be good. :) The new one uses a lot of embedded templates for lyrics, etc. When you're editing a page, the bottom should allow you to click and see the templates in use so you can see how to edit them. Maybe the old one is easier for now...play around, you won't muck it up! :)

I looked at the new Wiki to give it a shot and it said I don't have permission. :(  Sorry, homie.

Good info, Tracy!  Nice to see at least WCM knows what year their songs came from - unlike Spirit Music!

I made it so you have to register for the new wiki to stop the spam. Try registering and see if that works?

This one sounds almost EXACTLY like that Home To Me song Jewel wrote for that charity using that other girl's lyrics.

Just when you start thinking not much is going on...

This is a cool little batch of finds! And I was mentally sort of going in the same direction Tracy did...I think all those songs [EDIT: Well, not all of them- there are some from the 2 country albums and some relatively new ones and also some I never heard of] on the Warner-Chappel site originated from that writers' camp in 2000, especially now that I see the names in the picture caption also show up as co-writers.

Serve the Ego and Shadows Play were written there, too, right?

They were. :) I was actually just listening to this Shadows Play demo and it suddenly clicked in my head that, hey, this was probably recorded from that Summer camp writing session! The album info on my phone has always said "WCM Summer Camp Sampler 2000" and it's perplexed me about what the heck that was. I guess now we know. :)

Background guitar and accompaniment remind me of Sergio Mendez or Herb Alpert from mid'60's  :grandpa: ;)

kind of tropical and moody, Jewel can sing anything.
