I know a couple of people have just gotten their PUTP vinyls so hopefully everyone else does too. Should be soon! I hope.

That's exciting news, Tracy.  Thanks for the update.  I miss listening to vinyl.   :music:

I just saw it on Discogs that someone already received it. I can't wait ...

Not a word about any bonus material or anything cool like that, so I can definitely wait. :w

I'll have to look and ee how many songs I have on my iPod.  I love it.  I take it everywhere with me.

And, I'll admit that it has spoiled me.  Some stuff, I only download.  Now, I only buy the stuff that I know is really going to impact me.  That's usually the stuff I want on vinyl.  Because I will sit with headphones and listen to the entire album.  It's kind of interesting because artists used to release albums as an entire concept - star to finish.  Most don't anymore.  If I can sit and listen to it, start to finish - it's a good album in my crazy world.

Yeah, I miss proper albums. :(  I always had cassette tapes and I couldn't afford the type that skip tracks when you hold the FF and Play buttons at the same time, so I got pretty accustomed to albums.

I still prefer records that tell a story.  One of my faves is Live and Let Ghost by Jukebox the Ghost.  I was p heartbroken when they moved to making more pop-style albums with individual tracks.

That time space beetween albums and CDs - all I bought was casettes.  If it was an older band, sometiimes I could get a 2 on 1 cassette.  One album on side A, on side B.  I still have 'em.  I listened to lots of Fleetwood Mac on vinyl.  And Stevie.  They were my favorites.  The POY, when it came out.  Lots of Cass Elliot, too.  My Dad was a big fan and so was I.

Vinyl arrived today.

Whomever the carrier was (no shipment notifiation preceded delivery), left it in the rain.  At least it wasn't wet.  No bubble wrap, or proective packing = badly, ear marked corners from rattling around inside the cardboard box.

Now for the disappointing part, which is probably going to sound like pointless bitching to anyone that isn't a vinyl enthusiast, like me.  The cover, is not a gatefold?!  I don't know how that's possible.  It's also a double album.  Seriously.  3 songs per side

The cover was also way stretched out, so when I removed the vinyl to find the slightly heavier paper stock insert with the poetry on it, it looked like a mouth, gaping back at me.

It was signed.  J___l   :fallen:

All I can say is, good freakin luck with this one, Javo.  I mean it.

I got mine Tuesday, but I just found it today, behind the screen door. I don't get home much these days. :w

I was sort of surprised at the packaging, too. I was debating whether to open it or not before discovering it wasn't sealed anyway. And, I don't get why it was a double album at all, unless the running time was a little too long for just one. I don't know...

Sorry to hear for you, I can imagine that it's frustrating. are you going to write to the shop?
I hope they'll ship it to me  with Fed-ex again together with the Greates hits vinyl album, then it's packed a little bit better. But your experience with this is not very hopeful.
They didn't answer my question from this week, I'll send them a reminder.

No, I'm not going to bother contacting the store.  I think I just expected more.  I'll cross my fingers that they ship yours along with the Greatest Hits, so the packing is better.  I think mine came Fed Ex.  I had a USPS delivery after the album.  A padded envelope woud have been a better packing choice vs the cardboard box.  I should actually check it for any cracks.  I didn't even think about the weather factor.  See, that weather thread is useful :w

Aww sorry to hear that SMP! Its lousy when you are so excited to receive something and it doesn't meet your expectations.

I'm starting to think I expect too much.  I should loosen up and go with the flow more.  The OCD vinyl collector prevents that from happening. :lolsad:  Then again, I like the weather thread. :w

I was surprised mine arrived before December, to be honest.  Hope it gets there soon.

Yay - mine came and it's in great condition!

It's definitely the laziest Jewel autograph I have,, but it's all good - I'm sure she had hella writer's cramp going through all these books, CDs and albums!

I didn't receive it yet, but I expect it takes a few days longer to the Netherlands. The store is not answering also not my reminder. I hoped to receive a track and trace number.
