I'm kinda the opposite. I don't think I could cut off a family member like that. On my dad's side, they get real petty and cut-off aunties etc all the time. As a result, I have these huge gaps in my family tree. I hate it. Everyone's getting older and dying and they have these tiny funerals we never hear about until months later. I don't want to be a part of it or a cause of it. Personally, when it comes to family, I think it's wise to exercise boundaries, but disregarding family members completely has always seemed immature to me.
Just my opinion.
Also, it's an easy good look to be the bigger person who "wishes love and health" on their adversary via a third party, but it's just lip service to me.
