This show was so bomb. Thunderstorm Artis, the opening opening act, was so much better than I imagined! He was so happy to be there, too. I forgot how lovely it is seeing new performers. And right after his set, thunder crashed, the sky cracked open and it rained like the dickens! Thunderstorm brought the thunderstorms. The lightening was so beautiful, too. It looked like an Arizona storm. Right after the rain, there was a huge double rainbow over the whole stage. It was as if the gods themselves were blessing Jewel's set. It was ethereally surreal.
Super glad to see Hate Hate NOT get played. Alibis and No More Tears made it back to the setlist. A lot of the vocal masturbation in WWSYS was cut along with the big band jam was cut out of the Zeppelin cover to make room. Not sure if the show wound up shorter due to the rain delay or not, but they certainly scooted things along efficiently.
Train sucks. They suck way more live than I thought they would. The singers band is a million times better than he is, but the show is all about him.... and his kids for some reason? Anyway, we took an Irish exit after Jewel's duet with him and got a quick and cheap taxi out of there. I'm so glad they sucked 'cause it made getting back super easy.
