Title: Queen of Hearts EP!

So we all know that Jewel won season 6 of The Masked Singer this year. She performed many great songs and deserved the win (see the other thread). She said on Twitter:


So she re-recorded several of the songs for the EP! It's great to have some new songs to listen to! I think they're all fantastic; it would be nice to hear the live versions that I'm sure Alan may have (that don't have the judges microphones mixed in, aren't edited to be short, etc.)

On the first few listens, Born This Way may be my least favorite, which is a shame because I loved her performance on the show. I think it's the music that sounds like karaoke or something that puts me off? I'm not really sure. Every other track on the EP is fantastic! (And I still don't skip Born This Way, despite my complaints 😅).

After listening thru it once, there was one song that stood out as sounding particularly ridiculous to me...I think it was "What's Going On", with all the talking, if I remember correctly. I'll have to give it more time in my ears, but I think I'd rather hear her do originals, as long as they're not Travesty of the Pink Frisbee or Perfectly Clear-ish.

I love 'Bird Set Free'. Jewel sang it like it was her who wrote the song.

so, is there/is there not a physical CD? because it's REALLY bugging me not having one.

I'm pretty sure this is a digital only release. You can purchase downloads (MP3) from Amazon, iTunes, Tidal (also has FLAC), etc. Otherwise, streaming is the only option.

Is there a way to buy without going through these corporate giants? I deleted my accounts with iTunes and Amazon, and don't want to use either again. Thanks.

Tidal is an option.  I don't know that I'd call it a corporate behemoth. It's Jay-Z's thing he built so artists would get more compensation than they get on Spotify.

I have joined Tidal, but had hoped to buy the MP3 files without paying a monthly fee.

I can download the files now, but haven't determined if I can access them outside the App.

I really hate that there isn't a physical copy available of this. Would be a nice 10" record foor Record Store Day, missed chance in my opinion. Most annoying is that physical copies are not as usual as they used to be. Really a bad thing for collectors.
