Title: Where are you buying PUTP?
Post by: Echo on September 06, 2015, 06:07:08 AM
I ordered the autographed copy on Jeweljk but want to get a physical copy the day it comes out. I dont see it listed at Target. I think Best Buy is carrying it. Does anyone know who all is gonna carry this album?

You know, I hadn't even thought about it. Walmart doesn't even have it on their site. Looks like Best Buy is the main place to get it for some reason. That kinda sucks.

I'm p sure it'll be at Target.  They didn't have a pre-order option for Let It Snow iirc but they had the bonus tracks.  Target always gets the bonus tracks it seems.  They have a long relationship with Jewel.

Target is my favorite store, they better have it. I probably go there a little to much

Yeah, I think I pay the rent for the one by my house!

Just dropped $ 400.00 on some Shaggy Chic bedding.  I want to impress the mother in-law when she stays with us next weekend.

Nice! I end up spending over 100$ each trip and usually only leave with 2 bags..

There are three good music-stores in my neighbourhood. When I heard PUTP would come out I went to all 3 of them. 2 of them couldn't order it yet, the last one could. So I let him order it for me. Now all 3 of them can, luckily he's is the cheapest one of the three. I ordered the Vinyl record and the cd.

Glad you were able to find it at a store!

Record stores are getting really rare in my city - especially independent ones. :(

Jewel should do something for Record Store day!  All the cool kids are doing it.  She could release a little vinyl EP with the band version of Carnivore and maybe a couple tracks from the Soiree!

Target doesn't have this listed in their Weekly Ad for Friday New Releases. They have Duran Duran's new album and mention 2 exclusive tracks for that release...I sorta assume if Target would have exclusive tracks on PUtP, they would mention it in their Weekly Ad. Hopefully I'm wrong. :)

I totally agree! She rellay shoud do something for record store day. All 3 shops are independent, I'm really happy with them. Since viny became more populair again I have good hope that they can make it. for a long time I was afraid they would all dissapear, there is not much money to make.

I dream about having my own record-store, but than monthly rent for a good store is way to high.

 :that:

I live in a small town and we no longer have ANY records stores. All we have is a Wal-Mart... and not a great one, at that. If you can't find what you want there, you have to order it on-line.

Like I did. From jeweljk.com.  :tongue2:

Anyway, Record Store Day isn't until April. :/  We need to pick a closer holiday!

That is a lot to pay in shipping.    for International shipping not being easier (and cheaper)

It really shouldn't be that much.  They're factoring in some kind of labor for that one, because I could order it and ship it from the post office for way less than that, but I'd have to go and wait in that line, which is also worth something.

The cost was even more before people complained!  Over a hundred dollars or something like that to ship to the UK.  Unbelievable!
Title: Re: Where are you buying PUTP?

That's why i wanted to be put together with a normal order, but they won't answer my questions. I'm a littlebit dissapointed. I almost also placed another order, but that would cost me another 80 dollars on shipping costs. So I'm happy about the pre-order but dissapointed at the same time.

I know, but I want to order now, and then leave it for a few years. Greatest hits on Vinyl is the most important though.

I send an email to the store again today, If it is possible for them to combine and that I'm willing to pay. But I send them emails 3 times before and never got any answers.

While typing this I received an answer from the store:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My mail:
Hello,

I asked several times  a few questions on the site. I'm really sad I never received any answers.
I really hoped to combien the new gold bundel together wt the viny record from Greatest hits, The shipping cost forthe Netherlands are very high.
Could you put in a vinyl record of the Greatest hits (and if possible also a cd) in this gold bundle parcel?
I'm willing to pay of course, just let me know how we do this.

Please answer this email.

Thank you so much in advance

Kind regards,
a huge dutch Jewelfan

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer from the store:

Hi there,

Unfortunately due to production delays, the vinyl record will have shipping delays that affect the ability to be combined with other items.

Best,
Jewel Store Team

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The question that pop's up in my mind?
What has a delay from the vinyl record PUTP to do with combining it together with a Greates Hits Viny record  :shrug2:

I send them an email again (at least I got any response this time)

The greatest hits vinyl is shipping from the dusty old warehouse (in Texas ? - can't remember where for sure)

The new stuff will be shipping from the factory - especially the vinyl that's being delayed until freaking November.
Title: Re: Where are you buying PUTP?
Post by: Javo on September 09, 2015, 10:00:35 AM
The book, the cd and the shirt are not from the same factory as the vinyl-factory, now are they?
Title: Re: Where are you buying PUTP?
Post by: Jessica on September 09, 2015, 11:41:03 AM
No, but I think the CD and Book are being coupled in a warehouse and shipped together whereas the vinyl is definitely shipping separately.

I have no reason to think the same warehouse that holds the GH albums is also going to be the one coupling up the book/CD/Shirt bundles, either.  It seems Jewel is tenderly undoing her business interests in Texas.

It's a small point but the Sweet and Wild Deluxe, (Autographed) has 2 CD's see description from jeweljk store;

* Order Jewel's brand NEW Sweet & Wild Deluxe album and receive it AUTOGRAPHED! The Sweet & Wild Deluxe album features 11 new tracks including the smash single "Stay Here Forever" PLUS those same 11 tracks performed acoustically as part of the Sweet & Mild collection.

If you do not want 2 Fast & Wild CD's you only need the Deluxe CD Autographed .

Based on the tracking info they gave me, my PUTP CD has now been sat in Chicago for four days straight.  :(

I hope it's at least getting a chance to do some sightseeing while its there. And I hear the food's good too.

34 minutes until the album is available for download here on Australian iTunes. I can't wait to be able to replay songs easily and go from Mercy back to Love Used To Be without having to hear that Spanish artist's little intro.

Does anyone else have Jewel's intro embedded? I expect I'll recite it overtime I play the album from the start.

I know, it's just that every time I cqan get my hands on a different version (within reasonable prices) I will buy it  . I'm doing that only with Jewel stuff by the way. here's my discogs.com link: http://www.discogs.com/user/javo0107/collection (http://www.discogs.com/user/javo0107/collection)  with my collection, now you can see what an idiot I am when it comes to collecting Jewel music... you just have to scroll between my entire collection to the letter J (it's alphabetical on artist) . A filter is not possible when you're not logged in under my name.

By the way, this is not my entire collection, it's about 80-90%, not everything is known on discogs (a lot, but not everything) SO I have to add things according certain quidelines, that takes time and I only do it now and then. And I received a lot of new music the last few months, I wasn't able yet to enter everything in discogs.

Javo, set up a Twitter account and Tweet Jewel directly.  I bet she has no idea about any of this.  Most "talent" don't get very heavy into the promotional aspects of their stores or running their sites and so on.  The reply was probably automated based on keywords.  At best, she may be able to at least get her management to reply to you.

Sorry for your hassles.

info@jeweljk.com never replied, store@jeweljk replied in the end but never wanted to reply to my real questions. Also had to remind them on my questions one time.

I'll buy the other stuff later (if still available) when I'm over my dissapointment. I know I'm to much of a collector anyway, that's my weakness  :( ...

But I really want to thank you for your efforts, we know eachother for such a short time, but you really want to help anyway. And from what I read over here I can see that is your true nature. the name EDA really suits you.  and a big thank you.

This situation is a nice example of how every bad thing has it's good things (just like the other way around is also true).

So I got a quick and clear answer, the best I got so far (so now it's case closed, for me):

Hello Mr Vonck,

All shipping costs for the online store are calculated directly by the USPS. Unfortunately, shipping large, fragile items like vinyl records internationally can be quite expensive. Additionally, due to differing release dates, pre-order items by default cannot be combined with other items in the cart as it could lead to excessive shipping delays while waiting for various items to become available. The first-class shipping rate for a vinyl record sent to The Netherlands will be approximately USD $30-$35 regardless of whether the items are shipped together, as the rate is calculated on the weight of the package, and they require special packaging to prevent being damaged in the mail.

I hope that answers your questions.

Aaron Harris

On 9/14/15 4:50 PM, Jan Vonck wrote:
Hello,

At the EDA-forum I was told I had to write to this emailadress (Alan told Jessica).
I have a question for you, but at first I will explain the situation.

I really wanted to pre-order the goldbundel of Picking up the pieces and Never broken.
But I also wanted to buy some other things from the jeweljk store.
I could not order them at the same time.
Because shipping costs are very high to the Netherlands I wrote an email with some questions:
-   Is there any possibility to combine orders (no problem if shipping takes longer)
-   Will the gold bundle be available after the pre-order date (I thought if this was the case I could wait with ordering)
I did not receive any answer, I got an automatic email that I would receive an answer from another emailadress (I would make sure it would net end up at my spam-box)
I emailed again and also to the other emailadress, But still no answers.

After that I pre-ordered ( order #100002097 ), because I really wanted to have the goldbundle (I’m a big music collector (CD and Vinyl) especially when it comes to music from Jewel).
So after I ordered the goldbundle (56 dollars on shipping costs) I asked the store if there were any options to combine (I wanted to order especially Greatest hits on vinyl and on cd, the autographed ones) I received a standard answer which didn’t answer my questions.
A few mails later (with also a reminder) I got some of my answers on other questions, but no real help was offered. They said they could not change anything after the order was processed (paid and ordered).
Normally I’m OK with that, but before ordering I did not get any answers, so this way I didn’t have a chance at all.
Do I really have to pay another 56 dollar on shipping cost to receive Greatest hits on vinyl and cd?

The way the Jewelstore answered my questions and also not answered some questions (after me pointing it out a few extra times) were also very disappointing. It doesn’t do any justice to the product Jewel makes.

I really hope you can help me (I hope Alan reads this as well)

Kind regards,
Jan Vonck,
Dutch EDA

I just emailed them asking when my order might ship. Surely, they'll get back to me quickly. I'll just wait.

Well, how about that? Should I see my doctor in 4 hours?

Maybe we should have set up an old-school mailing tree. Hell, I could've mailed my CD to any one of you and it would have been there, like, today.

 I know,right?

I own three copies of this darn book now and I can't have a single one today.  Unbelievable!

Oh well, I wouldn't read it today anyway.

I've listened to the download tracks from the jk store once and never again.  I really don't like how different PFF is mastered from the rest of the album, so I'll wait for the CD.

I may be waiting a while with y'all 'cause I didn't get a shipping notice either. :/

I'll bet it has somethin to do with the fact that it was released prior to the rest of the album download.  I guess I could go slap on some headphones, and listen to MFD too and tell ya - but I don't think either one of us care THAT much.

Nah, MFD sounded alright with the record.  I don't think PFF is going to sound so different on the CD, but the download gives me the impression that something more was intended for that song - some sort of a separation when the final leg of this album release journey commenced.

I don't know.  I guess if it still sounds too loud for the rest of the CD, then we'll know that there really should have been more recording staff for this record after all.

I got an answer!

Quote
Hi there,

The release date for the book Never Broken is today, and you will receive a tracking number when it is handed off to USPS. Due to publisher restrictions, the books cannot be shipped before the release date.

Best,
Jewel Store Team

So, today??

"Patience, Iago, patience! (Gazeem was obviously less than worthy.)"

Sorry. That quote just came to my head all of a sudden. But yeah, it's frustrating, but ya just gotta be patient. If they couldn't send the packages out until today because of the publisher then hopefully they'll be sent by tomorrow at the latest. Fingers crossed!

I have great patience with a lot of things. For whatever reason when I order things, I don't.

It's gimmie, gimmie, gimmie!

:that:

I've pre-ordered from a slew of other artists and they ALL shipped so that they would ARRIVE on the release date.

In other news, I went to 2 different stores yesterday in order to obtain the "touchable, listenable, readable" copies of everything.  The book store didn't even have it unboxed when I got there after work at around 6pm.  And Target - is carrying the CD, but it isn't like the Greatest Hits with anything special on it

No shipping news on the gold bundle today either, but a male mannequin that I ordered from ebay has shipped and is being delivered today. So, there's that.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother emailing.  It'll ship when it ships.

PUtP was sitting there on the "New Releases" shelf at my local Walmart today. That was pretty exciting.

I didn't see the book, though.

I got in a fight at my local B&N last night about the book and audio book - the useable copies.  Target had the CDs, but no books.  I wish there was a local record store. :grandma:  Okay, I'll stop bitching.

I'm laughing also...but with a lot of pain, still no email about my order being shipped.
Maybe Jewel is going to deliver it in person as a surprise.

I didn't email the shop yet, but I will tomorrow, I'm afraid Jewel has out a new album before we get this one.
