I'm in. I wonder how much tickets would be... I'm interested in adding on the VIP package for the acoustic performance. Don't care about paying for a meet and greet
-
I'm assuming the general sale date is a typo? Wouldn't make much sense to have a presale after the general sale lol
I'm surprised we haven't got an email yet. Need a presale code
-
General sale is 9/7 I believe.
I'm not going. These are nowhere near me.
-
I'm definitely going to Medford MA. Ridgefield is a possibility. Maybe even Albany if I'm feeling it.
I'm at work at 9am tomorrow... I'll need to sneak off the floor around 10 to make sure I get front row during the presale. :D
-
I wish you all the luck in the world!! I hope they're fun shows!
-
Hopefully we get a password email soon? My guess is that it will be HANDMADE18
And I'm hoping it's not the exact same setlist, and that she actually does Foolish Games with the piano this time around!!!
-
According to the Madison Orpheum Twitter account the password is JEWEL2018
How do we not get an email from Jewel on this?!?
-
Never mind that. Jewel's website says HANDMADE18
-
Pre-sale seems like such a joke. Row K?
Worse than I expected!
-
That sucks! And it looks like VIP doesn't get you any closer because the tickets are sold separately from the VIP. Explains the discounted price from last year.
I'm not sad at all that I'm missing these shows.
-
Yeah I was bullshit about that presale. I got Row E for 12/12 and Row J for 12/4.
Looking forward to it anyway. Just wanted Row A lol
-
I got 4th row center for Madison, and VIP.
-
It looks like Ticketmaster was having issues with their site. Better seats are available now...but now I'm salty and changed my mind. Maybe I'll make a last minute decision when I know better what my December plans are about whether I want to go. I can't get in the Christmas mood yet.
-
The only location I would have considered is Washington DC and Ticketfly, whoever they are, won't let you pick your own seats.
Bit silly tbh.
-
I bought the VIP on Jewel, com this morning before 10:00 but had to wait for ticket presale.
I noticed that Ticketmaster was initially offering lower priced and middle priced seats in the balcony or 20+ rows back. :that:
I checked back a couple of more times and around 2:30 pm got good seating 5th row center on an isle. :woot:
About 6 rows closer in same section I had for the Sugarland concert on 27 July, same venue. Huntsville, AL. That was a good show as well. ;)
-
For the next tour there should be a code only posted for people on this forum, let it last for one day and then post a code all over social media for regular presale the next day.
Those of us with a VIP meet and greet can make this suggestion to her? Lol

I LOVE SUGARLAND! I'm so bummed that I missed this tour :(

I'm not going. These are nowhere near me.
Same, sister. I'm not even in the right country lol.
If she were to bring these shows to Ontario you bet your booty I'd be getting tix!!
Cuz you know... Christmas... :santa:

As soon as I saw "Huntsville, AL" on the list of shows I replied to Jewel, Thanks for adding Huntsville just for me.
-
I'm super stoked she is going close to so many other EDAs - glad you're one of them, Mr Joe!
-
As much as I loathe the bullshit religious holiday, I decided to go to the show closest to me. Enjoyed the show I went to last year, aside from a few cheeseball moments, & I got some great pics. Got a front row seat on the inside aisle of the right section - could've gotten front row center on the left aisle, but the site/system the venue used wouldn't let me buy one bec. it would've left a single seat next to ones that had already been sold. Pissed me off!!! :ragecomp:  :LoudMouth: :wtf2: The ticket was CRAZY expensive, & I'm a little annoyed bec. it looks like the venue doesn't allow photos at all, but...I'll deal.
-
I really want to hear Body On Body live. Wonder if I can get her to play it during one of the VIP acoustic performances.
-
Your best bet is to start a Twitter campaign ahead of time if you want her to play that...I feel like she'd need to practice for sure!

Came across some pics from opening night on Instagram. I thought this outfit may have been for just the VIP pre-show, but it was for her actual set. Guess she's not doing any nice dresses this year?

VIP sounds pretty disappointing... The "group photo" literally means a single picture with the entire VIP group, along with Jewel and the boys. Apparently it was 30+ at last night's show. Considering the tour is playing to half-full venues this time around, I would think they'd want to make the VIP experience a little more special for those who came.
No setlist has turned up yet, but she was practicing WWSYS with the band earlier in the week, so hopefully it's a different show from last year?

Well that really stinks.
-
She's also doing Foolish Games acoustic...
Haven't heard it live with a piano in years and this is a missed opportunity.
Looks like it's going to end up being the exact same show (stage, videos...) I probably could've saved my money and skipped this.
-
She's doing the same setlist as last year as well.
Kinda odd for someone who "doesn't use a setlist" and because she's playing some of the same cities as last year.
I'm annoyed with this tour LOL
-
Jeez. I went with three shows and two VIP packages too. I don't even get my own photo?

I wish her site would've been more descriptive with the VIP info. I know VIP was less than last year, but last year also included credit for the merchandise table, so I just assumed it was less this time around because it wasn't included. Hopefully she's doing more than one song for VIP...
I also don't think there's a "backstage experience"... to my understanding, VIPs are let in early and can sit in the first few rows. The boys come out to chat, then Jewel comes onstage to sing. Afterwards the VIPs go to their seats.
-
HAPPY UPDATE!!! As of last night's show, VIPs are now getting solo pics with Jewel and family :)
-
I'll be curious to hear about your experience. My first show is next Tuesday. I've got another VIP the week after.
What has the set been for the VIP show?
-
Is the photo with Jewel alone or the whole family?
-
VIP photos from last night were with the whole family, including Kase.
As far as a "set" for VIP, in the past she's typically done a couple of songs that were requested by the audience. If you are going to request an obscure one, make sure you have the lyrics up on your phone to increase your chances :)
-
Yay, glad that's getting sorted out! That was starting to seem like a bit of a bum rap for you guys.
I still have the CBS program from a year or so back, so I'm satisfied. Sounds like it's still the same thing.
-
Any set lists from these shows?
-

I had such a great time at the Madison, WI show this past Friday!
I’ll start by saying that the VIP experience felt a little rushed, but for the price it was certainly worth it. I’ve had VIP for many artists and paid way more (Carrie Underwood….9 second M&G) and this one was probably the most professional that I have ever been to. Everything ran on time and smoothly.
The “swag bag” for VIP was a fabric shopping bag that had a VIP logo and Jewel’s name. Inside the bag was a travel cup with the same logo, and a signed poster (which was rolled up in a tube so that it wouldn’t get damaged – nice touch!).
There was time for 10 or so questions during the Q&A. Alaska had the earthquake earlier that day, and we were told that everyone was fine, and that Aunt Mossy got a real kick out of it. Someone asked what inspired “Deep Water” and she said it was written around the time that she had a friend letting her use his shower who was running a prostitution ring in the apartment. She was inspired by talking to the girls and realizing that we are all trying to get by. Jewel then asked if we wanted to hear her sing a song, or if someone else wanted to. After contemplating for a moment, her dad finally said they want to hear you, and she sang a cover of Help Me Make it Through the Night. We then lined up for a photo. You could either take the picture with the group you came with, or solo. Jewel and I chatted for a moment about what dress she was going to wear, and then remember me from IG saying that I would die and go to gay heaven if she wore the red one with the long sleeves. She said she wasn’t sure because it ended up being super short, but that she was going to wear it anyways and was glad that I made it to the show. (She did wear the dress and it was perfection!)
Madison is very much a music loving city, with a full concert calendar and multiple venues, and this was Jewel’s first time playing there since POY broke. The floor appeared to be sold out, and the balcony was about 2/3 full, with around 1100 in attendance. From the second the show started with the boys taking the stage, the crowd went wild and hung on their every word. Nikos sang the first song and the audience was screaming like he was the biggest name in music afterwards. We got a real kick out of watching them eat up the love from the audience.
Going into it, I thought Jewel might phone in her performance, since she was essentially doing the same show as last year. Boy was I wrong! I think this was my 22nd time seeing her, and this was probably one of her best performances. Her voice was pristine, she looked beautiful, and you could genuinely tell that she wanted to be there and that she was happy to perform.
Joy to the World was cut from the set, and she instead opened with Santa Claus is Coming to Town. A few songs in, she brought Kase out. She got on her knees and held the microphone between them, and they sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow. You could tell that he was nervous, so she would sing with him until his confidence was up, then let him sing on his own. If he started to stumble with the words or his voice began to get quiet, she’d join back in until his confidence was back up. It was the cutest thing and you can really tell what kind of mother she is in moments like these. The song ended with one of several standing ovations over the course of the evening.
The solo set started with I’m Sensitive. She said that when she was recording POY, some of the studio musicians gave her a hard time day after day, and that one day someone said something that really hurt her. She wanted to say something to hurt him as well, but wrote the song instead.
She then sang Mercy, and it was my first time hearing it live (other than on Youtube). I can’t explain it…she took me to another place when she was singing it. I also felt like I was in a dream and that a higher power was telling me that everything would be alright. It took all that I had not to start crying. It was a truly magical moment.
Morning Song, Intuition and Foolish Games. After FG, she asked if Atz Lee was around and if he wanted to sing YWMFM with her. It took a few minutes for him to make his way to the stage, and they pulled the lyrics up because he didn’t know them. They sang the song as a duet, during which time Atz came into the audience and was taking pictures and video. She then went into No More Tears to Cry and explained that it was written for a girl who had made multiple attempts to take her life before she turned 13. The solo set ended with WWSYS.
After the show Atz and Nikos were out by the merchandise table, chatting and taking pictures. They had 5 or 6 shirts available, CDs, a Jewel ornament, a wood candle holder with Atz’s logo, handmade bracelets, and some other items. Pretty reasonably priced.
All it all, it really was an unforgettable evening and I’m so thankful to Jewel for it!

Wow!!! Can't wait to see her tomorrow night!! Excellent review!
-
That's a really great review - thanks!
-
Had a person drop out for tonight's show. So if theres anyone in the Ridgefield CT area that wants a ticket...
-
What a fantastic review! I love seeing Jewel perform with her family. I imagine she doesn't see them too much throughout the year so this must be very special for all of them. Would love if she brought this show to Canada, I would be first in line for tix.
-
Well I think I deserve the award for worst EDA tonight. I finally bought a Tascam recorder so I could get a better quality recording of the show instead of using my phone. It was my first time using one for a concert. After Ave Maria I went to check the levels to make sure it wasn't clipping, unfortunately the screen lit up pretty bright for a moment when I did it and security came right over and snatched it from me. When I got it back after the show I saw they had wiped the memory card, so the recording to that point is lost. I did get the remaining 90 minutes of the show from my phone and will upload, but sucks they deleted everything else.
It is really unfortunate because I recorded the VIP beforehand and she actually played See Sassy Wake Up... it was great! I was really looking forward to being able to share that with you all, so upset they deleted it! Amateur mistake getting caught like that. At least I have the two shows next week to make up for it, and I won't make the same mistake again, but unfortunately that performance of See Sassy is lost. She had someone hold the lyrics up on a phone while she played, which was fun. She said "can anyone go on to Jewelwiki and pull up the lyrics?" Love it!
Opened up with Somewhere Over the Rainbow, which was gorgeous as always. Brought my dad along, who is a super casual fan, as in only knows the big hits. He enjoyed it for the most part but doesn't like the way Jewel plays her own songs acoustic because they are so different from the radio versions that he doesn't even recognize them. This of course was not an issue with me.
She played Before It Had a Name and No More Tears, which was outstanding. I will definitely upload what I got from my phone, unfortunately it is not the complete concert. I'll be at it again next week and learning from that stupidity however. Just really sorry I lost See Sassy!
-
Ah, I bet she played See Sassy because Alan was there
It's okay, homie - you're still a rock star of the highest regard. :)
-
Maybe so, but that was still pretty bad to get caught like that.
Thanks though :D
-
Did she do Over the Rainbow acapella, or with the band?
-
Acapella
-
Trevor, no biggie! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and got to hear Sassy. Like Jess said, I bet it was for Alan!
-
It was for Alan! It also took a couple tries until she got it going
-
Wow...just catching up at hte forum... what a difference between expectations up front and reviews afterworth. Too bad the filming of Trevor was deleted. I never record if it's not allowed (men...I'm annoyed by all the values my parents learned me  )
Glad so many of you enjoyed it!
