Jewel posted an IG story earlier this evening that she was in the studio with Lester Mendez. I hope this means an 0304 followup!

Makes me wonder if she's signed back with a major label... I can't imagine that she wants to foot the bill for Lester's fee alone.

Yeah I was thinking the same! What influenced her! 🤔 And if she is with another major label again...I wonder what the tour schedule would be like.

Ugh. This is the best and worst news of the year. On the one hand we are getting a new album. On the other we have to wait until 2019. :( :(

Yay for a new album, finally! I've sorta been off the Jewel bandwagon the last couple of years with her Lifetime movies and self help guru stuff. If she releases music more like Goodbye Alice in Wonderland or a slightly less produced 0304 then I'll be happy. Lullaby and Picking Up the Pieces have satisfied my wanting a folkish type album before that. :) AND PLEASE NO COUNTRY. I generally like country, but we need something different. :D

Sorry, my bad - hadn't remembered seeing that pic, so went jumping to conclusions when I saw it there along with the message in the live story. Will also teach me for posting so early in the morning when I'm still half asleep!

Not finding a press release, but she's now with Red Music, which is an imprint of Sony. She did an event today with some other artists on the label in conjunction with iHeart Radio and is listed on their site's artist roster. Apparently she previewed some new music at the event as well.

The new dulcimer song is nearly identical to Where You Are. Like, there are a couple small changes, but not many.  If it was someone else's song, they'd be sued.

I'm glad the album will be all new songs. I loved POTP but felt a little gypped as a majority of it was recycled songs that we'd heard a million times before.

d'oh! They changed the song associated with this blog post!

Originally it was a brief demo of the song "Let's Dance" that she played with a dulcimer. I think she posted it to her instagram story or whatever last fall sometime.

She's currently writing with Sam Hollander, who's co-written Panic at the Disco's two current hits. She also plans to record the album in September and October.

I think this will be a major label release!

Now she's in the studio with Butch Walker, who's songwriting credits include songs with Katy Perry, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Weezer and Fall Out Boy.

In October  Joy for a holiday will come out on vinyl (at least in europe) Although I will never listen to it I'm pretty happy about it. I don't listen to christmas songs I think its awful  :grinch:. But hey I want every Jewel albu on vinyl so happy anyway!

Her ASCAP catalog has been updated to include Million Miles, co-written with Molly Tuttle and Steve Poltz. It also includes Run Tonto Run and something called The Strip 1, both with Jewel as the sole writer. Maybe she's bringing Tonto back for this album if it's more Rock based?

She said first quarter of 2020 in her IG Live tonight and performed the first bit of a song called Grateful.
