Oh wow... a stop in Colorado that isn't Telluride. To what shall I owe this great honor? I figured she forgot the rest of the state exists. :w

It's so annoying that none of these or other appearances are listed on her website 😩

Management is doing such a disservice to long time fans... It's like they don't care about EDAs or even know we exist. :banghead:

How do you do searches? I'd like to keep friends informed if there's a show that pops up in their area. I still can't find the CO concert via search & I now have tickets... :-/ weird.
-
I think I looked at a tagged photo on Instagram and saw the CO date, then googled Jewel Tickets to see if any others came up.

That's some good detective work, there. Thank you!

A little more info from People:
'Tis the Season to Give Back: Jewel Announces Her Charitable and Interactive Handmade Holiday Tour (http://people.com/music/jewel-announces-handmade-holiday-tour/)
This is not a foolish game — Jewel is coming back to a stage near you!
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is hitting the road this holiday season for a unique concert experience, performing a combination of holiday classics, holiday originals and her hit songs alongside special guests, her father, Atz, and her brothers, Atz Lee and Nikos Kilcher.
“As kids, I toured a lot with my father, but this is the first time as an adult that I get to share the road with my dad and my brothers,” Jewel, 43, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We are excited to embark on this holiday journey together and I am even more excited that my son Kase gets to travel with us all.”
The tour, which kicks off Nov. 24 in Las Vegas, will also act as “an instructional craft fair prior to the show where you can come to make gifts for loved ones,” she shares.
“I decided to start this annual Handmade Holiday Tour to create an antidote to the stress and overwhelm I am seeing in culture, and to help us focus on the simple pleasures that make us feel satisfied and truly happy,” she says. “My Handmade Holiday Tour is designed to provide experiences that friends and families alike can use to connect and make meaningful gifts and most importantly memories to share for a lifetime.”
She adds, “I believe you don’t need a lot of money to create memories or even gifts that last a lifetime.”
The tour will also sponsor 25 individuals per show who are in need and will offer them vouchers for the gift-making workshops to ensure they have a handmade gift for the holidays. Concertgoers will also have the opportunity to make donations or donate workshop vouchers to these families.
Online retailer Zappos.com will also be working with local animal shelters in each city to sponsor pet adoptions at every show as they kick off Home for the Pawlidayz, their nationwide pet adoption program.
“Holidays don’t need to be about expensive gifts and lavish parties, often it’s the little gifts, gestures and moments that you remember most over the years and I want to bring that simplicity of feel-good giving back to the holidays with this tour,” says the Framed for Murder star.
Tickets will be available for pre-sale on Tuesday, Sept. 19 and are on sale to the general public on Friday, Sept. 22.

I don't know if I want to Vegas for Thanksgiving or not. I'm not a gambler and Vegas is still a damn money pit. BUT, a lot of the corporate groundwork for this was set in Vegas, so maybe that one would be the best.
Hmmmm....

Presale starts today at 10am local time. Password: HANDMADE17
VIP packages are $1000.00 (what?!?!) and $350.00.
$1,000.00 Package:
Side stage seat, backstage photo op with Jewel & family, handmade gift delivered by Jewel, $100.00 merchandise credit at the merch table, guided backstage tour, pre-show, on-stage photo op, backstage refreshments, VIP concierge
$350.00 Package:
Seat within the first 5 rows, backstage photo op with Jewel & family, handmade gift delivered by Jewel, $100.00 merchandise credit at the merch table.
I'm really not interested in a $100 credit at the merchandise table. I was ready to buy at $250.00, but $350.00 isn't going to happen. In the past they've sold VIP upgrades for ticket holders closer to the event and a cheaper price, so I'm hoping this happens again!
-
Have mercy! That's a bit ... much. Plus travel? And what in the sam hill am I going to do with a $ 100.00 merch credit? Aye caramba!
I've never paid for VIP before and I don't think I'm going to start. The one show I could attend doesn't have tickets available yet and given the venue, they'll probably have a hard time getting all this coordinated like the other places.
"Handmade gift delivered by Jewel" sounds very different from what she described in the People article.
-
Apparently Milwaukee isn't included in the presale or VIP packages... would've been nice to know before I refreshed the Ticketmaster site over and over. This happened the last time she came, they did the presale later and didn't announce it.
-
Looks like quite a few are left off the list! Denver isn't there, either, and that's another one I could maybe swing.

-
I sorta can't believe I just bought a ticket to a 'holiday show'. I hope I don't regret it...
It's on a Saturday night less than 150 miles from me. I couldn't not go, I guess.
-
I already got myself signed and tatted by Jewel last tour, I didn't even bother looking at the VIP stuff this time around. Tho i can't imagine what is worth $1000 for a meet and greet.... Better get dinner and a drink with her or something.
Anyway, I got 2 balcony seats at Hershey, PA =)
-

For $1000, it'd have to be "or something."
-
Wow. These prices are so high! I have been looking forward to these dates but I just don't think I can stretch that far on airplane tickets hotels and the cost of VIP 😱
-
I'm probably gonna skip this tour. There are huge sections all blacked out on the Denver seating chart - and they're all the good seats that are blocked out for other promotions, corporations, and the VIPs. I can't even buy any tickets for Vegas. It's barely a real classic Jewel show - there's gonna be a lot of the family performing. I've already seen Atz and Atz Lee, so I'm feeling pretty good about my levels there.
I'm not spending $ 350.00 a person for seats and a $ 100.00 gift card for T-shirts or whatever that I don't want or need. For $700.00 just to get a couple decent seats .... nah. I can't think of anything else in that package that justifies the cost for me. And $120.00 for a couple of not-so-great seats in Denver? Not worth the cost to travel imo.
I think I'll save my cash for the symphony and maybe some Christmas presents for my loved ones ... and, of course, my EDA secret santee. :) I still have the Holiday Homecoming special on my DVR, so I'll watch that a few times.
I hope y'all enjoy the shows!

I thought Jewel was totally into mindfullness? Sounds more like she's into bankaccountfullness...
Even if I was a millionair, I don't want to sponsor anyone who's charging these ridiculous prices. It seems like in the end only money matters...
Does she need new :jewelboobies: or is the whole family just greedy? Don't know of I'm still a fan anymore, these things really annoy me. I guess we get to see her real face more and more (or am I to :grumpy:)

Bankfullness! :rofl2:

Bankfullness! :rofl2:
And it just keeps getting worse. From her Facebook post: "...be sure to check out my VIP packages so I can meet you!"
If she wants to meet us, why do WE have to pay $350 or $1000???
-
Going to see Ben Folds tomorrow - got VIP. $ 250.00 bucks gets you early entry, meet and greet Q & A, 30 minute piano class, a tiny preliminary concert/sound check, one song request that will be played, a picture with Ben, a So There song book with the piano music, and two free alcoholic beverages.
And, I'm sorry to say, Ben Folds is more popular than Jewel. :sadyes:
Girl needs to up the game a little.
-
I dunno, man. I wonder how much of this is in Jewel's control and how much of it is in Zappos/Hallmark's control ... I guess that's the question I have.

Doesn't matter whose idea it was. She signed the contract, so she's responsible for the bullshit. Can't blame it on Nedra any more, & can't claim that Azoff has that kind of power over her.

I was wondering if $350/$1000 were the only options, because that would be a bullshit ripoff. I poked around, and folks can get show tix more reasonably priced if they're not insistent on the whole VIP (bullshit) package. For example, Denver (Altitude Tickets) has ~$60 seats about halfway back in the orchestra section, and Hershey PA (Ticketmaster) is ~$80.
Better, I guess, but this whole thing tastes crappy.

Just couldn't resist, it really upsets me. But of course no answers (didn't expect any reply either). What frustrates me the most is looking into myself. I'm a pretty big fan (not compared to most people over here, but still...) and off course I know a lot has to do with marketing and stuff...But I also consider myself as a realist who can see through this kind of crap. I always had a soft spot for Jewel, even though I know her stories are well put and chosen and timed, sometimes even close to lying (not telling the whole truth) But still in essence OK. But my doubts are getting stronger and stronger, and I should've known better, my own judgement skills have been troubled more than I thought it would be possible...that's the thing I hate the most about this. This detail was just the last push for me...
-
It doesn't matter what this thing triggered with me. Getting to know Jewel's music still brought me a lot of good. Listening to Foolish games was the start for me to listen to real music instead of just the hits on the radio, my musical development kind of started there. And last but not least it brought me some great friends: one in real life and some over here. In the end it's still more than worth it.
-
What is Jewel's direction exactly? The Hallmark Fixer Upper is not great. I don't think acting is her thing. The mindfulness project is thoughtful, but she did not invent mindfulness. It's great she wants to share this with the world including schools. I've been using it in my classroom for 8 years. I'm not sure where the Never Broken "business" will lead her.
She's been posting a ton of videos on Instagram of herself- full of lip injections and Botox- What happened to Jewel? When I think of Jewel, I think of one of the most talented singer/songwriters. Lately, when she performs, she sounds full of herself, and her music isn't as heartfelt/authentic. It's been a challenge remaining a fan.
-
I needed this essay and I may not be alone. From Talib Kweli, it's about Lauryn Hill, but it really applies to any artist. Good read.
https://medium.com/cuepoint/in-defense-of-ms-hill-6fa84ba81d63
True fans celebrate what they have already received, they don’t whine like spoiled children about not receiving things they were never owed in the first place. When (and if) an artist shares their art, it is a privilege not a right. Try to remove your personal feelings from that equation.
-
I guess I wasn't reading into the ticket prices as much as others. She's not making money on album sales anymore (who is?) so touring is the way for her to do it. And on this tour she's bringing out more people, and presumably a band, so it would stand to reason that tickets would be a little more expensive to offset some of those costs for travel, lodging and paying them. Should she just do free concerts or charge a price that allows her to just break even?

:rofl2: Break even....with those prices? Then she needs like 7 VIP's per show (no extra audience needed)

I feel bad saying this... but I tend to agree. She is looking a bit plastic-y. Totally unnecessary, she's beautiful without all the glam and whatnot.
By the by... is she still with the hairy guy? Don't see him around much.
-
By the by... is she still with the hairy guy? Don't see him around much.
She just posted a video of herself throwing the football around w/ him a day or so ago, so it would seem like they're still a thing.
-
Was that him? Guy in the vid looked like he had a headset and had to rush off to work at the end.

I guess it might not have been. Didn't look at it full-screen 'til just now, & never noticed the headset - I just saw what looked like a beard & figured it was probably him.
-
-
Jewel looks so nice in this picture. I love this song also.
-
Still plenty of VIP passes available!
...and the Vegas show still is NOT available for purchase... :(
-
Still plenty of VIP passes available!
Shocker.
-
Las Vegas is now on sale...
Interesting choice in venue......
-
Less than $ 40.00 a ticket - that's what's up!
-
Wow - the Las Vegas stop is gone! D:
-
Vegas is off her site, but it's still on the venue's website and available on Ticketmaster.... hmmmmm.
There's so many nice theaters in Vegas I'm still surprised that they were doing it where they are. Unless it's going to become a free thing that Zappo's puts on...
-
Oh, yea, now it's off Ticketmaster and the venue site.
I wonder why they just put it on sale to cancel? Did they think she'd sell all those seats in under a month?
-
It's kinda weird because one of the sponsors, Zappos, appears to be HQed in Vegas. Venues are a dime a dozen up there. Weird place for it to fall apart.
I've been to the venue they were touting for the ASHRAE convention - definitely not an appropriate location. :/
Oh well, we were on the fence about it anyway.
-
Pick Jewel's setlist! I've already picked mine. :)
-
Yet, Jewel keeps telling me she never uses a setlist... :P
-
She's not coming anywhere near me, so I'm hoping that she allows to buy the entire concert like she did for others, or live-streams one of these shows.
For those complaining about price, my husband REALLY wanted to see John Hiatt and he was booked into the Birchmere with Lyle Lovett. I clicked the wrong site and ended up going to a scalping site - $450 for TWO TICKETS - hit pay before I realized as the $150 scalp fee flashed so quickly. AAAUUUHHH!!!
Well, the tickets WERE good and the guys played for 2.5 hours - simply them and their guitars. Lyle played my favorite "The Road to Ensenada" and I got it ALL on video. So NO regrets, just a lighter wallet!
I'm 56 now and have more life behind me than in front of me. Live it well, y'all and if you can make the cost work, it's SO worth it!
-
I paid $400 ea for Hamilton.
No regrets.
But the scalping is shitty.
I stood in line for concert tickets back pre internet days for Tom Petty tix. Got perfect seats ... front side with chairs... $75 bucks ea. 2001ish
I miss those days.
-
Just checked the site for the show I'm going to & saw that it's sold out. Impressive, considering that it's in the middle of nowhere. It's at a casino, though, so I wonder how many of those tickets are comped & going to high rollers...
-
She posted some videos from rehearsal on her Instagram story today. Looks like there's a full band and some pretty elaborate staging!
-
I know what Instagram is, and I've seen the photos and videos, but...what's an Instagram story?
