The one of Kase screaming, tho... LOL.

Love them! Good advertising for her lyrical shirts. ;)

Dolly Parton's over-plasticized face disturbs me.

I actually realized lately, Dolly Parton. I'm not a fan of plastic surgery, but I'm covered in tattoos - which most people don't understand or object to. I think as long as the person feels good about themself, who am I to say diddly? I love looking at this collection - so many great pics in here.

I'm not saying she shouldn't do it. It's her life - she should do what she wants. I'm saying that, in my opinion, it makes her look far uglier than if she just aged naturally. I'm saying that if she thinks it makes her look better, she's fucking fooling herself. But as they say...never underestimate the power of denial.
I don't expect her, or anyone else, to give a shit what I think, but I still reserve the right to think it & post it in a public forum.

Oh, I fully support your right to post it. What you think of Dolly's face certainly doesn't impact my life any. And I actually agree, that I appreciate women that age naturally. I believe when she started getting the series of breast implants, years ago, she said that she planned on many more future surgeries. Maybe it's her thing. I dunno. It doesn't really make me think more or less of her as an artist. I guess that was my point. All I know, is I wouldn't want to live my life in the public eye to any extent.

Did she really get implants? I thought she didn't...

:rofl2:
Dolly? Surely, you jest. I remember when I was a kid the popular joke was; Why is Dolly Parton so skinny? Nothing grows in the shade. :boobies: I'm using it!

TIL. I looked it up and I guess she was buxom when she started out, lost loads of weight in the 80s, and then fixed the flattened money-makers.

:rofl2: That's just awesome, and I'm fucking :grandma:

I loved just reading her attitude about it! She said something along the lines of how she was like a show dog and had to keep everything clipped and trimmed!
-
Yeah, she's never been one to hide it. Plus, she wrote and performed her own stuff at a time when it wasn't popular...especially, in the country genre. I like some of her stuff. Some of it,

Dolly covered one of my favorite songs of all time: Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Ole Oak Tree.

I remember singing that song in elementary school and I started bawling mid-song! I thought it was about a veteran returning home, though, and when I finally heard the whole song as an adult, I realized it was about a man returning home from prison. Either way, beautiful song. I was, however, always perturbed that it was always performed as a perky little diddy, whereas I have always heard it in my head as a dirge. Oh well!

I think that is the exact reason I appreciate what Jewel did with Sweet & Wild - like Mr. Joe and I were going back and orth about yesterday. It gave the option for radio and us acoustic freaks.
Both my Dad and Nana, listened to some country. My dad was a huge Johnny Cash fan. Me, not so much. But, they both listened to Dolly and Kenny Rogers. So, some of it reminds me more of good times with them then me actualy liking it. I was surprised when I realized how much country I like. Most of it is pop country or crossover. Love me some Patsy Cline, though. :shrug2: And Lady A with Stevie - when they did that Crossroads thing

Don't feel bad Jess... I thought she always looked like that too... lol :hide:

Same! I really liked Johnny Cash. LOVED the soundtrack from Walk the Line too... Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon did all their own singing and I thought they were awesome.

little diddy
The word you're looking for is "ditty". Diddy is that douchebag who changes his name once a month or something. :P
