In the last month, there have only been 19 users who have even looked at the board and only four total commenters/posters
Everyone's on Facebook. So here's the public group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1248872778603753
Make name for yourself kissing ass on that board and someone will add you to the secret group. Don't be too critical: Jewel's actual people stalk it out and as such, you could get the ban-hammer.
This thing's just become a blog and that's not what I wanted. I appreciate the few of you who stuck around, but there just isn't any interest in Jewel like there used to be. The new album and tour didn't bring much. I'm sure it's something I did wrong or boringly, but I can't do anything about that now. Sometimes it be that way.
SO
Barring some miraculous spike in interest, this is the end. I'll figure out where I can put my latest batch of guitar tabs and make one last great bootleg dump. Then that'll be all she wrote.
Special rock-on-hard-core-thanks to Dr. Robby the Wiki-King for everything he's done especially. You're the best, dude!
I'll see some of you around on Reddit after this. There's a little subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Jewel/) over there, but it, too, is p fkn dead.
-
Chances are I'd get myself banned from that group.
As for interest in her...she spends most of her time these days doing shit I couldn't care less about. I don't buy the whole "mindfulness" racket that so many people are trying to cash in on these days. It's all hippie-dippie bullshit to me, & I have no interest in giving it a second of my time. I actually like the album, but I can't stand to watch any of the press stuff because of that godawful scarf/hat thing she seems to think looks good.
You know where to find me, Jess!

Frag, how did you not vote after posting?
-
Oh maybe you did. Earlier, I voted before posting and it only had recorded my vote.

Love this! Going out with a bang!
I feel like there is so much here; when does your hosting run out? Maybe I can archive it on the wiki somehow.
-
There's really not a lot here tbh. Groups of youtube videos and stuff. I unhid a lot and I was gonna let archive.org have one last run through.
Hosting is paid up to May 17th and then it's curtains.
I'm up through the C's on EDA Radio!

Index is here: http://radio.edas.space/music/

I'm up through the J's. 106 songs in total.
-
 It's really sad, but I get it...
Just thank you for this forum, the cosy atmosphere and so much content. Without it I would never discover so many amazing songs, wouldn't experience the past shows, wouldn't learn so many facts (I feel it's the best informative source on Jewel, along with the wiki), and it's been really fun communicating with you all.
-
I'm a casual Jewel fan, and prefer her original style. But, understand people and artists change with time, and may get bored playing their most popular songs over and over, decade after decade. I bought many of her albums, but not all.
It is a nice archive to keep alive, and is seems nonmembers, possibly bots, are often on the forum, when I visit regularly without logging in.
I will check out the Angelfood, as I didn't have access to that, beyond what Jewel use to give out special to members of some mailing list.
Last week I thought Jewel had produced a lot of new music, as Tidal unintentionally combined several artist's songs and albums under Jewel's avatar. She appeared to have really gotten into Indian music, like Madonna. They soon fixed the problem. I learned about it because a "new" Jewel song came up in my feed.
-
Frag, how did you not vote after posting?
I posted & didn't bother to vote. It didn't make me vote. Which is good, because I didn't really like either of the choices. :P
-
Yeah... it's probably time.
I like rushing through and stirring up the drama every once in a while.
But, I'm an old man now.
We are living in the past.
-
Ok. I joined the FB group, which is a big deal because I try and not let anyone know who I am on FB.
My discovery - can we just talk about why this is a JK forum and not a Ram Gonzales forum?
Or even, how cool Frag looks driving around in his tractor?
:grandma:
-
I forgot about him lmao. I blocked him early on. I'm not about that shit.

Frag is fragallicious. You are totally missing out by blocking him.
-
Not Frag, I love him and his posts and cross country adventures! The Ram dude.
-
I don't know who Ram is?
-
He's in the public Jewel Facebook group. He posts videos of him burning incense and chanting in the group regularly.

Frag is the best!
I might have to write a country rap song about a ginger and a tractor. (not my fault)
Ram is living his own truth. But, that's Ok. I would just like give him a big hug.
It's Christmas time, every buddy!!! Merry Christmas!

 why do they approve that?
Also, well done Zuck for keeping it off my feed
-
I don't own a tractor, & haven't driven one in about 35 years. :P
-
Aww Jess... I'm sorry it's come to this, but I totally get it!
Let us know where those guitar tabs end up, I have a bunch I have copied from this site that have really helped me!
I love all you EDAs. Thanks especially to Jess and Code for the 'entertaining' posts, to say the least!

This sounds horrific.
However, I just joined the FB group (I'm Karli on there) and hope to see some of you posting!!!
-
Hey Jessica,
I totally understand if you end things over here. I'm really sad to see it going.
Personally I'm only a bit active on twitter, my LEGO hobby is winning it from music, film and being online the last 2 years.
I won't make a facebook account (i just hate facebook) so it's too bad that's the place to be for it.
If reconsidering is an option for you, I'm happy to join in financially, just let us know what you need per year, I can let you know what I can contribute
What will be the exact date you'll shut it down?
That all being said. I want to thank you so much for the wonderful years over here. It was a true blessing to join in every now and then on all of your lives, our music and some other stuff. I learned EDA's are truly amazing people. It was nice exchanging music (even physical between the USA and The Netherlands), all the lovely Angelfood (so much, incredible!), the heads up about all Jewel stuff (I wouldn't know 10 percent without all of you guys)
Thank you all, I'm grateful for all the times I could be here.

Amazing sets. And yeah it is really fun. I finall have a room for Lego since I moved last year. 3 tables en 2 walls with sorted LEGO. I build sets sometimes but I'm also busy with a large medieval diarama.
Since this week I'm building while listening to Angelfood Radio
-
I'm also busy with a large medieval diarama.
Cool, man!! If you're ever feeling up to it, post a pic?

A few photos from work in progress ( it's very messy right now)
-
Holy smokes, dude, that is WAY cool!!! So you're putting this all together without a template, yes?
-
Yes, without a template. Of course I see other builds on youtube that inspire me, but that's it. I'm very lucky to have a room for my hobbies/collections. This room has 3 tables and on both sides Ikea walls filled with transparent boxes with sorted LEGO. I can leave it there (in our old house with children I didn't have the space)
This project could take years to finish, but that's ok.
